  • KIDS' MARTIAL ARTS TEACHER ARRESTED FOR PARTICIPATING IN ILLEGAL GAMBLING

    The Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation arrested Arnaldo Lugo, a black belt karate instructor and former Florida Department of Corrections officer, for allegedly Operating a Gambling House and Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony. If convicted, Mr. Lugo was facing up to 5 years in prison on each charge. Miguel A. González, Jr., Esq. represented Mr. Lugo and on April 8, 2013, all charges were dismissed.

  • TEENS FACE CHARGES IN CONNECTION TO THREE BREAK-INS AT OSCEOLA COUNTY SCHOOL

    Marc Martinez was arrested and charged with Arson, Burglary, and other related charges. Miguel A. González, Jr., Esq. represented Mr. Martinez, and at his sentencing hearing successfully argued a downward departure from the required prison sentence. Mr. Martinez was sentenced to probation and ordered to pay restitution.

  • NEIGHBOR ON ROOF HELPS COPS BUST ALLEGED HEROIN DEALERS

    Alexander Quintero-Cardenas, a native of Colombia, was arrested at his home in Orlando, Florida, by Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation agents and charged with two counts of Trafficking 28 Grams or More of Heroin. If convicted, Mr. Quintero-Cardenas faces a minimum mandatory prison sentence of 25 years. Miguel A. González, Jr., Esq. is heading his defense, which is pending in the Circuit Court of Orange County, Florida.

  • TEEN WILL NOT FACE CHARGES AFTER BROTHER'S SHOOTING RULED AN ACCIDENT

    Two brothers, age 16 and 12, were home alone when the older boy heard noises. The boy called out for his younger brother and when he didn’t answer, the older boy feared an intruder, was startled by the younger brother and mistakenly shot and killed him. The incident was investigated by the Orlando Police Department and the State Attorney’s Office. Miguel A. González, Jr., Esq. represented the boy and his dad and after a lengthy investigation by the authorities, the incident was ruled an accident and no charges were filed.

    Jose Vázquez, a native of Mexico, was arrested in Orlando, Florida, by DEA agents and charged with Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute five kilograms or more of Cocaine, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. Mr. Vazquez may also face deportation proceedings upon conclusion of the criminal case. Miguel A. González, Jr., Esq. is representing Mr. Vazquez in the United States Middle District Court of Florida.

    Miguel A. González, Jr., Esq. is representing one of the 24 defendants charged in a federal Indictment, which is being prosecuted in the United States District Court of Puerto Rico. The client has been charged with Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute five kilograms or more of Cocaine, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. Also arrested was the son of the former mayor of Naguabo, Roberto Baez-Figueroa.
